Littering is a serious offence in Singapore. People caught littering can receive fines of up to SGD2000(￦1,678,000), and they must appear in court. The incorrect disposal of small items can also cost up to SGD300(￦251,000). Litterbugs who are caught littering need to complete the Correctional Work Order (CWO). Under the CWO, litterbugs have to clean up around Singapore in bright CWO green and pink vests. The government counts on this element of shame to stop litterbugs from littering.

쓰레기 투기는 싱가폴에서 심각한 위법 행위이다. 쓰레기를 버리는 사람은 최대 SGD2000(167만8천원)에 벌금형에 이를 수 있으며, 반드시 법정에 서야한다. 작은 소품들을 올바르지 않게 처리해도 300달러(약 251,000원)의 대가를 치를 수 있다. 쓰레기를 버리다 적발된 사람은 교정작업명령서(CWO)를 작성해야 한다. 쓰레기를 버리다 적발된 사람은 CWO 하에, 밝은 CWO 초록색과 분홍색 조끼를 입고 싱가포르를 청소해야 한다.
