Q & A
Vocabulary
Q. What is your opinion on corporal punishment?
A. I was quite shocked after reading the above passage on caning. Currently, corporal punishment is not allowed anywhere in South Korea. It was allowed in school when I was very young. Teachers were allowed to use caning or hitting as a means to control the students. However, it was later proven that corporal punishment would eventually lead to adverse physical and psychological problems. Personally, I don't think corporal punishment in any situation helps to solve the problem.
