Q.
Have you been confused or surprised by any dish before?
A.
Yes, I have. During my first trip to the southern states of America, I was surprised by a special dessert known as the fried ice-cream. I was so confused when I first heard about it, confused about how they can fry ice-cream without melting it. My friend brought me to her favorite fried ice-cream place for me to try. Balls of ice-cream as big as a fist are coated with some egg white and cornflakes and then fried. The texture is crunchy and hot when you first bite into it, but then the cold of the ice-cream hits you and you taste creamy and delicious ice-cream! It is a contradiction in texture and temperature and a very interesting dessert! I found out later that they freeze the ice-cream balls for a few hours until it is completely frozen, and fry it for only a few seconds. This explains how the ice-cream remains cold after it is fried.
