Merlion Park is a must-see attraction for tourists visiting Singapore. The biggest attraction of the Merlion Park is the Merlion statues designed to improve tourism. They have become national treasures of Singapore. The Merlion symbolizes the humble beginning of Singapore from a fishing village. Its original name “Singapura” means lion city in the Malay language.

A. Yes, I like the design of the Merlion statue. I think it is very beautiful, and I like how it is part fish and part lion. The statue looks very mystical to me, like in the legends of story books. It also looks very strong, confident, and powerful to me. Knowing the story behind the Merlion statue makes it even more beautiful to me. Considering the humble background of Singapore and where it is today, the Merlion is a reminder of what this country has achieved.
