Carnival

Carnival is a huge celebration held in February a week before Lent (a season of preparation before the celebrations of Easter). The festival takes place throughout Spain but each area celebrates differently. Each region puts a spin on their own Carnival festivities and each is a wonderful experience. The festivities usually include lavish costumes, beautiful headpieces, and unique masks. The biggest Carnival celebrations take place in the cities of Tenerife, Cadiz, and Sitges. The vibrant colors of this festival can be seen all over Spain during Carnival.
