Do Wear Appropriate Clothing

Malaysians are conservative people. In general, people dress rather conservatively no matter where they go. This especially applies to religious places of worship, including temples and mosque. The shoulders and knees of a person must be covered when they visit these places. It is appropriate to wear swimwear on beaches but visitors should cover up when walking in the surrounding areas. Not doing so can cause offense to the Malaysian people.

말레이시아인들은 보수적인 사람들이다. 일반적으로 사람들은 어디를 가든지 다소 보수적으로 옷을 입는다. 이것은 특히 예배의 종교적 위치에 적용된다. 예를 들어 절과 사원을 포함한다. 이런 곳을 방문할 때는 어깨와 무릎을 덮어야 한다.
해변에서 수영복을 입는 것은 적절하지만, 주변 지역을 걷는 방문객들은 몸을 가려야 한다. 그러지 않으면 말레이시아 사람들에게 불쾌감을 줄 수 있다.
