Les Invalides is a hospital built in 1670 and was built at the request of King Louis XIV. King Louis XIV wanted to build this place to care for war veterans. Before this hospital was built, war veterans did not have a place to go to get well. This building is still a hospital today. There are several exhibition spaces open to the public. Visitors interested in the topic of war will find the exhibitions very informative.

Q. What do you think about the Les Invalides?

A. I think it is a beautiful building, and it is amazing that it is still a hospital today! I would love to visit here. I think it would be very informative for me because I love history. It was my favorite subject when I was in school. I also love the story behind the construction of this landmark. It was built to care for and house war veterans. This shows kindness and humanity by King Louis XIV. This makes me want to visit the place even more. Hats off to King Louis XIV, the designers, and builders for this impressive place!
