I have a special music box. Some people might say it is just an ordinary, old music box, but it is not just a music box. It holds all the memories that I had with my grandma. That’s what makes my music box so special.
I loved spending time with my grandma, and I still love her. I have working parents, and if both your mom and dad have full-time jobs, you probably know how it feels to be alone during the day. I feel like I spent most of my childhood with my grandma rather than with my parents. I wasn’t too sad about it though. I really had a wonderful time with my grandma. She was always at my preschool to pick me up, and then we used to go grocery shopping before we went home. I especially loved the time when she and I used to bake cookies at home. I can still smell the chewy chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven.
When my parents were stuck at work late at night, my grandma used to tuck me in with my favorite fairy tales. One night, she was telling me a story about a fairy with a music box, and she gave her own music box to me. It is a bit old, but I was very excited to receive a small, pink music box from her.
My grandma passed away a few years ago, and whenever I miss her, I take out the music box from my desk drawer and play the song. I polish it or talk to it like I am talking to my grandma at times. I believe that my grandma is listening to me somewhere in heaven. When you look at it as an ordinary music box, it may look worthless, but my music box has all the memorable times that I had with my grandma, and you can’t put a price on that.
