Day 45 - Money, money, money

People call me Money. I travel all over the place with people because they carry me in their pockets or wallets. I do not want to brag, but no matter where I go, I am always welcomed and loved. Many people think I am so precious and valuable. I am also considered a symbol of success. However, I don't always bring happiness to people; sometimes people destroy their lives because of me. I am very happy when I can be a blessing to people. Last year I was really busy because I traveled so many different places. A little boy named Sam donated me, and a charity organization used me to buy some water and food for kids in Africa. I was so proud of myself and Sam. After that, I moved into a wallet of a guy named Jake who bought a very beautiful engagement ring for his girlfriend, Mandy. He was so excited and thrilled to pay with me to buy that shiny diamond ring to propose to her. At that moment, I felt like I was Cupid, the god of love.
On the other hand, it makes me really sad when I become poison to people. I hate to make things worse than before. However, when people become greedy or lose control of their spending, lots of things happen. Will and Grace were a very happy couple before they won the lotto. They were not rich, and even though their income was quite small, they loved each other dearly. They both worked together to bring home the bacon. They were known as a diligent, hardworking, young couple. However, right after Grace won the lotto, their spending was out of control. Will did not go to work but had parties all the time and bought a yacht and a beach house and drank a lot.
Grace went shopping every day, and they began to fight all the time for nothing. In the end, I was used to pay for their divorce lawyer because they decided to get a divorce. How sad it was! Two weeks later, I was kidnapped by a guy named Billy. That's right. He stole me and my friends. And now he is in jail.
Finally, I hate to be a curse to people. I know I can't buy them happiness, but still, I can make their lives so much better as long as they are not obsessed with me. People should know that they can make me worth something when they use me wisely. If you use me to pay for fries, you may get fat; however if you save me, your bank account will be fat. As they always say, a penny saved is a penny earned. So it is totally up to you to give me the value. So are you ready to manage me?
