Day 11 – Public Transportation
Day 11 – Public Transportation

My car broke down recently and I had to take the public transport to school. The area where I live is far from the subway station, so I have to take a village bus and transfer subway lines twice to get to school. I never looked forward to taking public transport. The subway is usually full of people during rush hour. It was quite a nice experience. It was crowded, but everyone was quiet and had good manners.
Compared to driving or riding a taxi to work, it is much faster to take the subway. There are also special lanes on the road for only buses, so there is less of a chance that you will get stuck in traffic. I can’t stand traffic. When everyone is going so slowly but you are already running late, I am at my wits end.
Sometimes however, when it is rush hour after work and classes, the subway and buses are so full and packed with people, it is almost impossible to get on. A lot of the time, you have to push your way in and be uncomfortable close to the people around you. I am so close to the other person, that I can read their book over their shoulder. But usually there are key stops that the subway does where most of the people get off the train and there is a lot more room. I don’t mind taking the public transport more often.
