Day 4 – Restaurants

One of the things that I look forward to with my family is having dinner at a nice restaurant every weekend. My mom always cooks for us during the weekdays, but it is a lot of work for her. To give her a break from cooking, my father would always bring us out to eat during the weekends. My sister and I take turns to decide which restaurants we will eat at every weekend.
I usually choose a restaurant based on reviews from visitors. There are many different websites where people write reviews about the food, price and quality of the food served. Sometimes, we will go to family restaurants, or we will go to a nicer place and need to make a reservation. It is also helpful to read the reviews because it tells us the dress code the restaurant requires.

My sister doesn’t usually take as much time when she is choosing which restaurant we eat at. She chooses where we should go based on what she is craving that day. So, when she is picking where we go, it is usually a place that we have already eaten at. I like to pick new places each week and my sister likes to pick known places. My parents are fine with both options, and they only care about spending time together and taking a break from cooking.

My mom is a wonderful cook, and she always gives it her all when she makes us dinner. But that makes her more tired, and it can cause her to lose her energy for the rest of the day. So, she doesn’t have the time or energy to play with us. Eating out on the weekends allows her to rest and for us to have quality time together. I can tell this also makes my dad happy to see, so even if we go to a fancy restaurant with a high tab, my dad is happy to get the bill.
