Day 3 – Cooking

I think that my aunt Anna should be a full-time chef. She always makes the most delicious meals. She really enjoys cooking and often hosts large dinner parties for our family and her friends. At every dinner party that she organizes, Aunt Anna would cook three-course meals for her guests. Every time I see her food I can hardly speak because my mouth is watering so much. Her specialty is Italian cuisine. She is able to cook all kinds of Italian dishes with different sauces and ingredients. Her cooking is so good that I keep eating and eating till I feel like I will explode. When I see my Aunts cooking, my eyes are always bigger than my stomach.

When I see how enthusiastic my aunt is about cooking, I get inspired to pursue my dreams as well. Like my aunt, I want to be a chef also. I am still a novice, but time and effort I will be able to achieve my dreams. I always thought that great chefs had to go to famous and expensive culinary schools in Europe to learn how to be a great cook. But I have since learned that that is not always true. Many chefs who are seen as some of the top chefs in the world didn’t go to culinary school. They just worked hard in the restaurant business and worked their way up.

Just like my aunt Anna. She is a wonderful cook. Best in the world in my opinion, but she didn’t go to a fancy school to learn. She just has a passion for cooking and taught herself. I asked her once why she doesn’t work in a nice restaurant and she said that even though she enjoys cooking, she enjoys it more because it is a hobby. She doesn’t want to be tied down to a job with cooking. If her hobby started to feel like work, she would feel very sad and lose the joy that it sparks. I understand her reasoning and I respect her more for it. I, however, want to own a huge restaurant with fancy foods and always have a table saved for my family.

I really love cooking and I am excited to learn how to improve my skills. What should be my first dish?
