  • The rooster is the national symbol of Portugal. For many Portuguese, the rooster stands for faith, honesty, justice, and good luck. Many visitors from other parts of the world believe that the rooster statue from Portugal will bring good luck and happiness. Roosters souvenirs can be found in any souvenir store in Portugal. The most common souvenir is the Barcelos Rooster statue. It is painted in bright colors. The designs painted on the roosters are hearts, flowers, and spirals. These statues come in all sizes and are easy to bring back home. Tablecloths, napkins, towels, and handkerchiefs with rooster embroidery are also popular souvenirs.
