Wat Phra That Doi Suthep

Thailand’s most sacred temple, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, is definitely one that should not be missed. It overlooks the city from the mountain on the western outskirts of Chiang Mai. According to popular legend, the temple was built to hold a piece of bone from Buddha’s shoulder. This legend is taught to every student in Chiang Mai. To reach the temple, visitors have to climb 306 steps.

태국의 가장 신성한 사원인 '왓 프라 댓 도이 수텝'은 단연 놓쳐서는 안 될 사원이다. 치앙마이의 서쪽 교외를 타고 산에서 도시를 내려다볼 수 있다. 유명한 전설에 따르면, 이 절은 부처의 어깨뼈를 지탱하기 위해 지어졌다. 이 전설은 치앙마이의 모든 학생들에게 가르쳐진다. 사원까지 이르려면 방문객들이 306개의 계단을 올라가야 한다.
