Sukhothai Historical Park

The historic town of Sukhothai in Thailand is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The name means ‘dawn of happiness’ in Thai, and it was the capital of the first Kingdom of Siam. The park includes the remains of 21 historical sites with 190 historical ruins and four large ponds within the old walls. The classic lotus flower design forms the architecture of the temples. Motorbikes and cars are no longer allowed inside the park but bicycles are allowed.
