Temple Dresscode

The Thais are fairly conservative people. For visits to temples or religious monuments, visitors should dress conservatively to show respect regardless of their own religion. Women should wear long pants or skirts past the knee. Men also should wear long pants. Both men and women should keep their shoulders covered. Clothing shouldn’t be too loose or too tight for worshiping and meditation. Visitors can rent attire at the temple for a small fee if they do not have the right clothes.

태국인들은 상당히 보수적인 사람들이다. 절이나 종교적인 방문의 경우, 자신의 종교에 관계없이 존중의 의미로 복장규정을 지켜 옷을 입어야 한다.
여자들은 무릎을 내려오는 긴 바지나 치마를 입어야 한다. 남자들도 긴 바지를 입어야 한다. 남녀 모두 어깨를 감싸야 한다. 예배와 명상을 위해서 너무 헐렁하거나 너무 꽉 조여서도 안 된다. 방문객들은 마땅한 옷이 없다면 적은 비용으로 사찰에서 대여할 수 있다.
