Do you think that a language other than English should be spoken as the world’s international language?
A.
I think it would be interesting to have another language be spoken as the international language. But I think it would be difficult at first. I believe the reason why English became the main international language is because of the early influence of the British and American cultures on the rest of the world, through colonization. Maybe as Asia gains more and more influence, an Asian language can become the international language spoken around the world. As I know it, Mandarin Chinese is already the second most spoken language in the world and the number is increasing and getting closer to English every day. It might not be so far-fetched to have an Asian language spoken as the world’s international language.
