Vermicelles

This chestnut-based dessert is very popular in Switzerland. Vermicelles looks very similar to spaghetti or noodles. It can be found throughout the year in Switzerland but it is more commonly enjoyed in the fall. This is because chestnuts are harvested in the fall. Fresh chestnuts are made into a thick puree, squeezed through bags into the shape of noodles, and topped with whipped cream and a cherry. In the past, chestnut trees were abundant in Switzerland for everyone’s picking and vermicelles were known as the “poor man’s bread”.

이 디저트는 스위스에서 매우 인기가 있다. 버미셀은 스파게티나 누들과 매우 비슷하게 생겼다. 스위스에서 일 년 내내 볼 수 있지만 주로 가을에 더 많이 즐기는 디저트다. 왜냐하면 가을에는 밤을 수확하기 때문이다. 신선한 밤은 진한 퓨레로 만들어지고 포대를 통해 국수 모양으로 짜내어 휘핑크림과 체리를 얹는다.
과거에는 스위스에서 밤나무가 풍부해서 모든 사람들이 밤을 땄으며 버미셀은 가난한 사람의 빵으로 알려져 있었다.
