Q. What do you think of the gratin dauphinois?
A. The ingredients of this dish actually seem very similar to mashed potatoes, which is found all over the world. My grandparents live in Switzerland, which is very close to France, and we used to have this for dinner all the time. Growing up, I really enjoyed this dish but I didn’t know it was called gratin dauphinois. We called it potato gratin instead. It is still one of my favorite dishes. In fact, I just made this dish a week ago!
