In Taiwan, those born between 1980 and 1991 are known as the "strawberry generation." The general view is that this generation, having grown up in a protected environment and economic prosperity, cannot handle hard work. They are called the "strawberry generation" because they bruise easily under pressure and hardships. They also cannot handle being scolded by their teachers or bosses because they have been so spoiled by their parents.

대만에서는 1980년부터 1991년 사이에 태어난 사람들은 '딸기 세대'로 알려져 있다. 일반적인 견해는 보호된 환경에서 성장한 이 세대가 경제적 번영 속에서 자라왔기 때문에 힘든 일들은 감당할 수 없다는 것이다. 딸기 세대라고 불리게 된 이유는 딸기가 압력이나 충격을 받아 쉽게 멍이 들기 때문이다.
또한 부모에 의해 버릇없이 자랐기 때문에 선생님이나 상사에 의해 야단맞는 것을 감당할 수 없다고 한다.

A. Complaints and conflicts are common between the young and old as South Korea becomes an aging society. It leaves the younger working-class generation with heavier burdens, to take care of both their elderly parents and their own young children. Younger people also say that they have difficulty communicating with the older generation. On the other hand, the older generation complains that the younger generation is too selfish. It is difficult for them to put themselves in each other’s shoes to understand each other.
