La Tomatina Tomato Fight

Thousands of people from around the world visit Bunol, Spain every year to join the Tomato Fight. La Tomatina Tomato Fight takes place on the last Wednesday of every August. The duration of this event is about one hour. During this hour, around 150,000 over-ripe tomatoes are tossed into the street for the “world’s biggest food fight.” In 2013, the event began using a ticketing system to control the number of people at the event. The event was so popular that over 50,000 people joined the festivities and overcrowded the streets.
